An Italian official has said the arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court for the now-released Libyan prison officer and alleged war criminal, was “marked by inaccuracies, omissions, discrepancies and contradictory conclusions”.
According to Al-Jazeera, Minister Carlo Nordio told the Italian parliament on February 5th that there was “uncertainty” over when Libyan Osama Elmasry Njeem, suspected of the murder, torture, and rape of detainees in Libya, had committed the crimes.
Njeem is the chief of the Tripoli branch of the Reform and Rehabilitation Institution, an infamous detention system, and was flown back to Libya after being held in Turin for two days.
