Fears are growing in Morocco over crop collapse, as the decades-long drought begins to land the country’s agriculture sector in crisis.
According to Al Araby on February 10th, Morocco has budgeted for a grain yield of seven million this year after only reaping 3.12 million tons in 2023, amid a sharp production decline.
Last year, Morocco’s wheat purchases rose by roughly half a million to 6.29 million tons, but the bill actually decreased owing to lower prices on the international market.
