Borrell: West Bank could become “new Gaza”

European Union diplomat Josep Borrell warned on September 10th that increased violence in the occupied West Bank means it risks becoming “a new Gaza”, as reported by The New Arab and agencies. 

Borrell said Israel was doing this through violence, delegitimizing the Palestinian Authority, and stimulating provocations to react forcefully. 

Israel is also asserting that the only way to reach a peaceful settlement is to annex the West Bank and Gaza.
