Trump’s national security adviser Mike Waltz ousted

National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and his deputy, Alex Wong, have been removed from their White House positions after losing the confidence of administration officials.
According to The Guardian, President Trump announced on Truth Social that Secretary of State Marco Rubio will serve as interim National Security Adviser while nominating Waltz as UN Ambassador. Waltz had previously faced scrutiny after inadvertently adding an Atlantic editor to a sensitive Signal group chat about Yemen airstrikes.
The abrupt leadership change leaves the National Security Council without established strategies on major issues, including China relations and the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
