Morocco boosts public sector pay to $1,000 monthly by 2026

Morocco will increase the average net public sector salary to MAD 10,100 ($1,000) monthly by early 2026, up from MAD 8,237 in 2021.

According to government-friendly Hespress, the government has already raised the public sector minimum wage from MAD 3,000 to MAD 4,500, following Royal directives.

Major sector-specific improvements include an MAD 17 billion education package that provides MAD 1,500 monthly raises for 330,000 staff, and an MAD 3.5 billion health sector program that enhances salaries and risk allowances.

The initiatives are part of broader social reforms, including the Universal Social Protection project, reaching 3.9 million families.
