Aid blocked to Gaza while over 800,000 could face floods
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) said on December 10th that flood aid is being blocked from entering the Gaza Strip, while 850,000 people are at risk of experiencing torrential downpours, according to a report from the Middle East Eye and agencies.
In a statement, The NRC revealed only a small number of tents and shelters have been allowed into the Gaza strip. They said: “Gaza urgently needs heavy machinery, tools and shelter items to prevent catastrophic flooding.”
International aid groups and the UN have only been able to transport 15,600 tents to Gaza following the October ceasefire according to the NRC.
